Not photoshopped I think, it's one of of those VSS-3 xenon arc tank lights.

Look up the Big Lights. Most of the large-reflector carbon-arcs do this. Mostly because they're all several thousand lumens and tightly focused. Now imagine that you're flying a plane in the dark trying to aim bombs, and this hits you. Almost don't need the AA...
