Hi guys, I just bought a Quark 123^2 Turbo and I'd like to see what user input people have on this light. Thanks :)

its a pretty sweet light.... its not exactly far throwing but has a great hotspot and some decent spill..... ui is really neat too..... however i dont like the flash when turning on...

im in the process of returning mine because the clicky was messed up and didnt always work even after tightening the clicky retaining ring......

but id definitely buy a regular quark 123^2 for edc

I like the Quark Turbo's enough that I have purchased three of them. My Dereelight XP-Gs have all been greenish in color but my Quarks exhibit very little to no green. I prefer to purchase the Quark Turbo AA head and a 2x123 body and the flat Turbo tailcap. I also get the Tatical versions only so I can set 2 modes. I hate clicking through modes!!!

There are brighter XP-G lights out there but these are plenty bright and give a great combination of throw and spill. They are well regulated and will run for longer than the brighter lights.

My Quark 2x123 Turbo draws .65A at the tailcap with two fresh Panasonic 123s. If Panasonic's 1500mah rating is accurate that works out to over 2 hours of runtime. 2.3 if you divide 1500 by 650 but current will probably rise and voltage falls so roughly two hours.
Two AW 16340s draw 465ma so you would get roughly 1.5 hours on rechargables.
Two AW Lifepo4s draw 580ma so that works out to about 40 minutes worth.
4 Seven's has told me the 2x123 light will not stay regulate long on a single Li-Ion cell. I have run my 2x123 version on one 17670 AW cell and can tell no loss in brightness compared with my other Quarks. I have not done extended run test though. Tailcap current with the 17670 is .995A as it is with every other single Li-Ion cell I've tried. All single IMR cells bring the current down to .890 so the light seems to be well regulated with single Li-Ions when they are fresh off the charger.

Hope that helps and enjoy your Quark Turbo.

My only real opinion here is that it's probably better to ask BEFORE you order the light.

Besides that, the Turbo is pretty cool. I like fins.

I have exactly the same problem on the tail cap click switch. I also worked according to the instruction of the service support to tighten the retaining ring but it's still not working. The tailcap is now on the way to 4sevens for replacement.

I found that should be the problem of the click switch inside the cap because I had dissembled the tailcap and measured the conductivity of the click switch by a multimeter.

I have the AA*2 Turbo and it has been great. It was my first quality light and I opted for the turbo over the regular for the extra throw...even thought I don't know how much that is!

When I compare it to to my other lights (Maratac AAA and Jetbeam RRT-0) my wife says it looks greenish. I notice a slight difference in tint but don't notice its green I guess because I have some degree of color blindness.

All in all, great light IMHO and would recommend any combination of battery type and UI to anyone looking for a good light.

I have a couple of quark turbos and I reckon the 123-2 version is the best feeling best balanced compact light I've had in my hand.

My one complaint is the dark centre in the hotspot though I have reduced that on mine somewhat by shimming the reflector but I think a more beneficial approach would be a light orange peel reflector much in the same way as the Eagletac P20C2. The beam would then be so close to perfect I think.

On the plus side, my Quark turbo has an extremely wide spill area that's very well lit with no dark areas in the spill at all. The knurling is just perfect and the fully protruding tailcap switch is much better to use than the ones on the regular quarks or non turbo tacticals. The thing manages its heat extremely well and is a very compact unit for something that has a head much bigger than its body. My personal opinion is that it's Quark's best torch and mine do not have green tint.

They do need to get a bit more consistent with their battery tube internal machining though as I have some 123-2 tubes that fit a 17670 nicely and some that were overly tight on the same cells to the point of needing work to get the cells to fit.

I recently purchased both the Quark 123^2 Turbo and the Tac. The Turbo is a great light!!! It has a lot more throw than the Tac. The Tac's throw is decent but lights up the area better. When compared to my SureFire LX2 it does seem to have a very slight green tint to it, but with my eyes, it's not that noticeable.

All in all, if you get this light, you will be both impressed and very happy! The UI is easy, you just have to program the light once you get it out of the box and get the batts. in it. Follow the instructions and you should have no problem. If you are still a bit confused by the instructions, 4Sevens has a video on YouTube on how to do it.

i also bought a 123x2 turbo i never saw such a small lamp with such a good beam out of it, throw is very good plus some spill, the dark spot in the centre isnt that noticable, i dont like and dark spots at all but the 123 turbo isnt dark its maybe very slightly dull not noticable under normal use outdoors, i live close to a camping site and when i see people out walking with their led torches and headlights, you just have to laugh to yourself when you really see how poor quality they are, i carry mine in the holster and what i like about the holster is it sits high up on my belt so the lamp doesnt stick down to far when wearing it/its not even noticable. this is my first ever 123 lamp and im NOT dissapointed

I bought a 2 CR123 TurboForce head and added a 18650 tube, then I went to a single RCR123 tube with the TF. Now I am happily running on a 14500!
Many days it rides on my belt next to a Quark RGB head on a 14500 tube.

I have been carrying the 123^2 Turbo for a while now, and quite satisfied. I was a bit concerned about the size at first, but it works well in all my pants - I pocket carry the flashlight.

Mine is just slightly greenish, but you have to really look for it on a white wall - in real life uses, not an issue by any means.

My previous light was a Fenix P3D Q5, and I had been waiting for a decent bump in efficiency before I upgraded, and this was it. I have been using AW RCR123 batteries, and keep them topped up every few days.

I expect to keep this as my main EDC (my backup is a mini Ti CR2 on my keys) for a while. I will probably wait till upper S bins become readily available and lights this size are getting over 300 OTF lumens on their highest mode.
