Hi all,

I'm relatively new to the incan side of CPF and thought I would see if anyone has experience with the Lumens Factory IMR-9 drop-in?

I have ordered a Solarforce L2 host plus a 1X18650 extension tube and was going to run a LF E0-9 or a SF P91 with two 18650's.

But I am now going to put the LF E0-9 in my new Surefire 9P.

While on Lumens Factory's site I spotted the IMR-9 and will order this instead for the Solarforce host with a couple of IMR 18650's.

I looked at MD's compatibility chart (thanks MD:)) and see I will get about 30 minutes off the two cells.
As for the output, can I expect double visually from the IMR lamp Vs the 9P's stock P90 lamp?

Thanks,

Steve.

I would say the IMR-9 is more than double that of a P90. It's output is on par with an MN20 in output (not in throw). I am always impressed by it when I fire it up in my 6P on 2xIMR16340 cells.

I have an IMR-9 along with two AW IMR16340 cells on the way. I might finally make use of the 18650 capability of my Solarforce body too, so IMR18650's might show up on the CC statement soon.

I keep buying stuff that makes everything else I own look like toys. Hopefully this fireball shooter of a bulb will hurry up and permanently scar my retinas so I stop buying P60 lamps.

But really, it's getting ridiculous. I've been into P60 style stuff for like 2 weeks now, and I have the P60, P61, P90, P91, HO-6, EO-6, HO-9, EO-9 and now an IMR-9 on the way!?!

I'll have to tell the doctor I'm addicted to Lithium. It keeps me sane but it sure is costing a lot!

Thanks.

I know Sailboat, I just about get my LED addiction under control and then the Incan bug bites:help:

Steve.

You and me both..

I just glanced at your signature line to see what other toys you had, and then I saw your 4Sevens AA2 Turbo..

Naturally, I had to pick up my regular model off the table, click it on in turbo mode. Now I appreciate that light again for blasting out the lumens without needing CR123 cells..And I'm eying the Turbo head model since I'd like a little more throw.

Crap!

I have a 6P/IMR-9/IMR16340 combo, and it puts out as bright a beam as my M3/MN11/IMR18500 combo!!

I think you might have to worry about damaging the foam in the shock bezel if you run that MN11 for an extended period with those batteries. Just something to think about.

It is a fairly bright setup and you are correct about the throw, this is a pretty floody setup. Overall though its okay.

I have used my IMR-9 with IMR16340s, but where it really gets shining is with IMR18500s and larger, which is was designed for.

If you want more options, you can look at FM's D26 module w/ CL1499 for high output (and TL-3 for low output, and CL1794 for extreme output)

I've been meaning to put together this setup too (Recently posted about it), but probably going 2x18500. Speaking of that, anybody know if the Solarforce CR123 extension tube is bored big enough for the 18mm diameter batteries?
