I'm in about 55 incan Maglites and around 35 LED including many still in the package. Lots of classics, and several X series ML's.

When I'm not so infernally lazy I'll post pics of mods I did. Love the C's, have 4-4c's, a 2c and 3c plus a couple of D's.
I'm intrigued with the matte finish ML50LX-until I saw less than 500 lumens. I need a good thousand to see. (over-65 eyes)

Anyone modded the LED Mags yet? I understand it's difficult.

The 3 cell is 700 lumens. It's exceptionally bright. The ML300L 4D is 1002 lumens. It's not the Matte grenade grip light though. It's a full size. I can just guarantee you won't be able to tell a difference between 705, and 1002 lm. But they do make a light that's over 1000.

Thanks for that... reason I wanted 2-cell is 'cause I figure I could adapt a 21700 in and 3 cell would be too long.

Added a gray 3 cell ML25 but it replaces one killed by leakers. $15 with the 40% discount. Lost my black one recently as well. May not replace that one.

What sucked was they were low serial numbers from 2016. Like 008xxx and 009xxx. The new one is SN 553xxx.

Mags are a minority in my collection, but that still ends up being a hell of a lot of flashlights. Recently been able to explore some pretty weird old stuff and newer models I hadn't checked out before.

The short version of the ML150 (called ML150LRS) is 850 lumens and is about the size of their 2 cell ML50. The longer version does throw a bit better due to the 1000 lumens but the short one is amazing. Can be had with a matte finish but to be honest, with bare hands I find the shiney version more grippy.
(Hoping for grenade grip ML150's some day)

You could probably swap out the LED module on a 3C ML50LX for one from a 4D ML300 to get 1000 lumens running on a pair of protected 21700's - wouldn't recommend it as the extra 300 lumens are not all that noticeable and you will no longer to use C cells as they won't run the 4D module at full brightness.

I run my ML50LX on a single 21700 in a adapter and that is the setup that I would recommend.

That's what I was getting at earlier. But only 500 lumens..

You can also run a 2C ML50 on a 21700 or 18650, not as bright as the 3C ML50 but still plenty bright for most things.

If you want something more compact, the 2C dual mode ML25 is great, lower lumens but more throw which make it a lot brighter than the lumen numbers would suggest.
