I was looking at Inova flashlights today an would like to know if anyone has one of them an what do you think ? Thanks ,
Bill

I have a few X5's and X1's as well as the older T4. Good lights. Mine are all single mode output. I seldom carry them anymore since the multi mode lights have come around with higher output and better runtime. Thing may be different now with Innova going multimode themselves. The price is good.

They are my favourite brand behind surefire. Well made, nice beams, and a nice balance between out-put/runtime. I usually recommend Sureifre...but, if they are turned off by the high price, then it's Inova. I'm one of those rare bugs who will only buy local for the most part...and I know I can get Inova's just down the road.

I've got first and second gen. X1's gathering dust. I guess the latest is more useful, but, like Lou said the newer lights are better all around.

I have the new X1 with 2 modes. It's not bad for $20 (nice beam, plenty of output, acceptable run-time), but their "special" twisty+momentary tailcap switch is terrible. Momentary is unreliable and the twisty action is frustrating since it'll switch modes while you're tightening it or not switch when you intend to.

I will not consider buying another unless they replace the horrible tailcap switch. It would be a great little light if only they put a reverse clicky in it.

I have an X03 w/ the SSC P4 LED and an X1 w/ the Nichia LED. The X03 puts out an incredibly smooth and flawless beam, which even my co-workers and friends agree upon. Nice simple design and great build quality too.

I had a inova bolt 2AA was a very powerful light but, Some times i just couldnt get it to turn on. something internal was not right, tried fixing it the other day but broke the lense and bined IT! :(

The newest Inova X2 is a two mode light, 150 lumens on high and 16 lumens on low. The previous version was a single output 85 lumens. I don't know if there was a version before that. Definitely get the two level light. Low is good for most uses, but every one in a while you need all the output you can get. Not a Surefire LX2, but 20% of the price and more than 20% of the quality, but not 100%. I've gifted a few of these, never heard anything bad. I had a bunch of Inova lights that held up well. That was before I got severely picky about things like color temperature and CRI.

Hey thanks a lot all the info is a big help . I'm going with the xo3, i guess the 123 batteries will be ok what do you all think ?
Thanks ,
Bill

I have a dual mode X1, overall it's a nice light, but the tailcap design isn't all that great and that almost makes it a twist only light.

I have an X2.

Built like a tank with good output and runtime.

Plenty of brighter options, few tougher. All in all it's a practical light worth the money, IMO.
