Hi.

I have seen that Inova has released an infra red version of the X5. I have noticed that it is more expencive than the standard X5.The X5 was allready available with red light before,so now i wonder what´s the difference between standard red and infra red? Has anyone used infra red lights before?

Thank´s

Infrared is non-visable light that can only be picked up by night vision scopes and the like, whereas the human eye can see red as a color.

Thank´s for the reply,Xrunner. Now i have a follow up question, why would anyone need an Infra red flash light? What is the practical use of it?

The only "practical" use that comes to mind would be pretty much anything involving night vision gear. For example, I have a night vision monocular with a built in IR illuminator. This works well for close things (say out to 10m), but I also have a IR filter for my Surefire P series light. With the filter on a P series light you won't see any visible light, but if you look through the monocular you can distinctly see that your target is lit up.

Electronics such as TV remotes, PDAs, and the like also incorporate IR light to "talk" to each other. Anyone else have practical uses for IR light?
