I saw in another thread that the colored inova is brighter than the white. Does anyone have stats on thier relative brightnesses. Is it worth buying one of each color, i currently have no colored led lights, or are there better colored led lights out there and what are they.

bump. I just was wondering how people felt about the inova colored lights as compared to inretech adapters or other multi led colored lightrs. Any opinions?

The colored lights can be fun to play with, but stick with white for EDC. TX

There have been a LOT of discussions on CPF about "which color is brighter", as you well know - WHITE is a combination of multiple colors and in the case of a WHITE LED is produced by a Blue or Deep-Blue LED striking a phosphor

Since the energy will be spread over a range of colors to "make white" the brightness of a White LED will be lower at any one point compared to the highest point on a normal LED and since the human eye is most sensitive at the Greenish-Blue - a Green or CYAN LED would be technically brighter than an White

But, on the other side of the coin - Humans have evolved for millions of years using the light source of the Sun - A gigantic Fusion Reactor that makes a even light combination of "White", and that is what we are used to

It converts 900 Million Tons of Hydrogen into 895 Million Tons of Helium every second

If you want to impress your friends and say "my flashlight is brighter than yours" - Get a Green or Cyan, or maybe even the Super Bright RED that we sell

Unless you go around wearing colored Glasses, your eyes are used to normal-white light from the Sun

But, when you are done trying to out do your friends - you want a flashlight that you can use for everyday functions such as reading maps, looking for keys, finding the lightswitch on the wall or your tent in the middle of the night; using a single color is going to seriously affect how your eye and brain perceive the color - You want White

I have one AA Flashlight for each color we sell (Red/Orange, Red, Green, Cyan, Amber, Blue, Deep-Blue, White ) and we do offer the complete set either as adapters or completed flashlights

As "txwest" said "Can be fun to play with" - they are, I enjoy letting the kids play with the colors, but when I need to look for something - I bring out the White

The only customers that purchase colored adapters from me for actual use and not just "play" are the astromers who like the Red/Orange to have a nice light - not to ruin their "night vision"

I just seem to be missing the mark with my question. I am looking for what flashlights are the brightest for colors, not the best lights for every day carry. Obviously the inovas are brighter than colored photons. I was just wondering what lights i should buy for bright colors. Are the inretech adapters better than the inova lights or is there another bright model out there?
