I am a newbie here. This is a great site.
I found this "Toy" today in a benevolent fund. I think it is interesting. The photo work took me 3 hours, it is 2am here. Picture first. English is not my native language. It'll take me another 3 hours to add some word. I'll finish what I saw 8 or 10 hours later. I'm go to bed now.

Nice pictures Tsao

Oh and as for your English... you just made a lot more sense than I normally do at 2am, and English is my native language

The clear wand part is the same design as some similar products that the local Target carries. The spiral of opaque lines running through the clear. They have tiny amulet things less than 2" long like that, but nothing this big.

No hint of it could I find on their website though...

Fun looking stuff,
James

Sure looks like a variant of the mini version that Target sells. But I don't think the Target version does color changing.

Probably uses the same type of LED as in the Quasar Pen.

My sister has a hybrid of those 2 products, the Quasar and this light stick here. It is a pen that takes button cells at the top and has a single, barrel button. It has several modes including Lock on Red, Green, Blue...Red and Green, Green and Blue, Blue and Red, color cycle, etc. etc.

Probably the same exact circutry and LEDs as in this (It's 3 tiny LEDs, 3 seperate globs of epoxy) only in a pen.

This stick is a brand new design in Taiwan. They made their own programmable control chip (dice I think). This is their 2nd generation of software version. It has 8 colors (include white) and more than 100 mode include flash. The each single color has 12 flash modes. Plus 3 multiple color totals has 132 modes. The LED chip is from Nichia RGB type. Each color is bias in 20mA. The viewed angle of the LED is very large. But still bright enough that if I can’t continue look the chip.

I try to answer something
1. No, this product never sale outside Taiwan. They even don’t have any model name of this stick. Web, not yet.
2. I talk with the guy made this and mention about CPF, he is not interesting in flashlight.
3. Yes this LED is direct driven by 3 AAA. But the red one needed more current than the others. So it has 1 chip, 1 transistor for Red color, 1 bias resistor, 1 LED, 2 switches (1 for changing color 1 for flashing type).
4. Price is about $10USD.
5. My nephew loved this stick very much. It had been fall from about 1meter to tile floor, it is robust.

I would like to get another one for the for Craig's fund.
My mother wants me to go out with her.
See you later.

Thank you for showing the photos of this "toy". It is interesting to know about the programmable chip.

What flashlights do you like?

I insteresting the Chip too. I'm a PhD student now. My majer research is IC circuit design. To design the chip is not difficult for me. To make one cost a lot of money. About USD30K to run a chip process at least I think. I will ask for some to do some mod thing. It came in dice without package I think. My lab had bounding wire machine, so I'm OK for that. And you?

Maybe it far too early to discuss this.

I like the ARC LS than E2E, it has 2AA pack. 123 is expensive here. I order 1 on the net, still not arrived now. I can't do nothing but wait.

I feel great here too! Talking here has helped me to know that I am not the only one that is fascinated with flashlights.

Yes, it might be too early to discuss details of advanced design in this forum. I'm OK with that and I understand that. Many companies read this forum.

Also, people from all over the world post messages here at the CandlePowerForums. I'm sure everyone would be happy to read more about things you would like to share.

I wanted to tell you that where I live in the US, some people do not use English very well and sound like out of tune violins. I understand you just fine.

I think I must take English lesson. I said too early because if I try to say more, it’ll take me another lots of time to discuss the thing we might not get it. I have to check spell and grammar again and again to make my word right. I have to check the dictionary to find right word. I’m very happy to share every thing about the light in CPF. I’m not a business man now, if making lights will bring a lot of money for me, I think I will. Basically, IMHO, I don’t think some light companies make reasonable money. It has a lot of work to do. It seems that they are too busy in the business. I’m not like this style. But I like the flashlight. If I can make some companies produce more good light, I’ll be happy to do. I think some CPFer provide some light in mod at reasonable lower price or group buy that’s a hero in my mind.
Some thing I didn’t say before is: if you want the chip and I can get it, I can bound the wire on a small PCB for you much easy to use. Because I can use the bounding machine free and easy. I think it is too early to say that. Don’t you think?
Thanks your kindness respond and I’m so happy to discuss with you in CPF.

P.S. It took me about 2 and half hours
