Hi all. Just curious if anyone else would like to see an li-ion that is long enough to fit in a 3 cell light, such as the G3, C3, 9P, Pila and Wolf Eyes lights? These batteries would be ideal for some drop-in LED modules, as well as for longer runtimes on 3.7v lamp assemblies/strion conversions. Some modders could probably find applications for M6 and Maglites as well. Someone like AW may consider developing these if there would be a market. Obviously they won't fit conventional chargers, but there would be increased capacity over 17670 and 18650 sized batteries. Maybe post here if you might be interested or if you have other ideas. Thanks! (oh, I have no financial interest in this other than purchasing a few for myself!)

If it will fit in a stock Surefire C3 body and be at the conventional Li-ion voltage the I would love the extra capacity. Super for the M30!

But how will we charge it?
Will a universal charger do well enough, my best guess would be no.
I think with alligator clips and my Pila charger it could work.

I'm always interested in big cells, but the market probably isn't. 18650s are a standard and used for many, many applications. Most of those produced probably end up in laptop battery packs.
17/8995s would cater to a very restricted market; this means they couldn't be mass produced like 18650s are, and their prices would be far higher per unit of energy as a result.
