Yes, the irony of it!

The coming series at Shea with the Brewers is a promo weekend. Friday is a collector's cup, Saturday is flashlights sponsored by Keyspan (local power company) and Sunday is Mother's Day visors for female fans.

Here is the flashlight, looks like a 2-cell winner that couldn't light its way out of a paper bag. Can't tell the scale from the picture, maybe it's a 2C or 2D light. Surely an incan, but maybe someone who's going to the game could enlighten us with real photos.

Now, I started this thread here in General Flashlight because I don't know any more about the light, but if we focus on the irony of giving 25,000 people flashlights at a Mets game, well, this thread might migrate to the Cafe. If all those fans pointed all those lights at the Brewers' pitcher, well, what *could* he see?!?!?!?!?!?

The time of the game is 1:10PM. They probably wouldn't give away flashlgihts during a night-game. During the daytime, the glint from the sun off of the crappy plastic windows on these lights probably represents more light than the overall output of the flashlights themselves...

What would be even more ironic would be giving out free mirrors during a night-game :D

There is a thread about this running in Cafe.

Discussion about this can be continued there.

There's no need for yet another thread about this or similar topics re:blinding partcipants in a sporting event.
