Is Fenix P2D/L1D Q5 4n1 pack a deal?

The 4 in 1 pack, which looks as if it missed the Christmas season, is $73 from Fenix Store or $70 with free 'Super Saver' shipping from Amazon. Is this a decent deal - and - are they the 'latest' versions with the real high outputs? I do confess to liking the dual-power capability. Of course, I just got a pair of SAKs (Farmers) via that 'free' shipping - they were thrown in a slightly padded envelope, yielding somewhat scrunched boxes... I can't give them as gifts now - guess they go in the 'knife drawer'! Seriously, should I spring for 'better' shipping - or order from the Fenix store? Or... just order a different Fenix as my first such example?

Thanks!

I don't know about the Amazon deal, but the powerpack on the Fenix Store explicitly says it is the Q5 version; there's nothing better at this time. I purchased this several months back, and am very happy with it. The one I got has the OP reflector, though I cannot say for sure that all do (though I would expect that this is the case).

With the CPF 8% discount at Fenix Store, it is cheaper than Amazon. Fenix Store also includes free shipping and they do a very nice job with it. They are a high quality organization and stand behind what they sell, so you cannot go wrong with them.

The R2 Flux Bin Cree XR-E is actually the "best" at this time with about a 7 lumen increase by specs over the Q5.

It is pretty hard to beat this package in versatility (2 battery options, multi level) and lumen per dollar value. What is amazing to me every time I fire it up is how much light the Q5 head and a single AA battery put out.

Both sites have free s/h? I thought there was a $100 min at the Fenix Store. They both show the same blister pack 4 in 1 set, so I assume it's the same. Hmmm $73 - less 8% = $67.14 not bad - I'll look into their s/h. I am not a 'paying' member here - yet - is that a problem re the F.S. discount? Actually, my local Ma-Pa gunstore just got Fenix goodies in - I stopped by yesterday afternoon after an aggravating time taking back a SF 6P LED to Lowes - they just were too rude, it soured the purchase, although $93.49 with 10% s/t didn't help. Also, their only 123s were Duracells - 2/$10.

The MaPa store alos had the 6P LED at $66.95 - got out of their for <$75 inc a spare pair of SF 123s and s/t! Of course, it was real money... not Lowes plastic... I hope the cats will share lunch with me today.. I don't care, what a well made light that 6p LED is - and The Fenix are, well, little works of art... hard to believe they are probably made by the same PRC shops as the Lowes T-F 2C cell 3W DNA sampler!

The free shipping is on any orders of $20 or more at Fenix-Store. The 8% discount is for all CPF members, paying or not. :welcome:

I ordered mine yesterday afternoon... $67.16 seems pretty good - and no s/h! They are in Tucker, GA - outside Atlanta (Everywhere but Atlanta, in Georgia, is 'outside Atlanta'... my younger son, d-i-l, and grandmonsters live 'over there', too.). Probably ~160 mi from here (NE of Birmingham). It will likely be here Friday. The local Ma-Pa gunstore had just started carrying Fenix - I didn't see the bp 4 in 1, but I really didn't look that closely Monday. I was impressed with the Fenix lights they demo-ed, though. I bought a S-F 6P LED - they were $66.95 instead of $85! I got one and a spare set of S-Fs for <$75 OTD, but I'm an 'old' customer (LOL). I'll go back and peruse the Fenix stock... thanks for the 'push', youze guys (I'm really from Brooklyn!).

Mine was shipped yesterday, too... we'll see who gets their's first!

PS I believe in proper gun control... I use both hands. Now, flashlights, I've been known to use them one-handed!

To answer the first question fully, lets add up the cost:
P2D-CE Q5, $60 or $55.20 after "CPF8" coupon
L1D body + tailcap, $24.00 or 22.08 after coupon
White diffuser, $5 or $4.60 after coupon(coupon only works for orders $20 and up)

So total would be $89 or $81.88 after coupon, the kit is $73 or $67.16 after coupon, sounds like a good deal to me.

I hope you guys like the lights!

They should arrive next week.

I ordered train parts from a shop in Augusta in the past - never took over two days First Class package/envelope. UPS, if I ordered by lunchtime would arrive the next afternoon by 2 PM. Well, it didn't arrive today, so it'll be three days minimum - for 150-160 miles! Your's may arrive in TX by then, too! Anxious...me? I'm about to go by that MaPa gunstore... maybe look for a T1...

You forgot the battery tube caps.

So if I were to order this package with an extra L2D body/tailcap, would that kit be able to create the same light as the L2D-Q5 by just using that head?

If so, I might jump. 3 lights for barely the price of two! (Plus battery carrier).

I was thinking the same as I read in another thread that the L2D and P2D heads were the same and interchangeable... so P2D head + L2D body = Complete L2D light. Can anyone who has this light confirm that the P2D head works with the L2D body? :twothumbs

yes it works. i have swapped both bodies with p2d heads, and works great.
The head voltage input is 0.8v-4.2v so it will work on L1d,L2d, and p2d.

Cheers

The L1D, L2D, and P2D heads and tailcaps are identical.
