Is it just me or do all flashaholics seem to have the same types of little weird things they like?
I have noticed that I am attracted to most type of "gadgets"
or survival type trinkets. It seems that many here also share in this facination with the same types of hobbies or things they collect or admire.
My friend(and fellow member) Owen and I are a lot alike and I noticed he has a thing about watches. He also bought a cool magnesium fire starting kit that fits on your belt.He is into things like those little watertight containers that fit on your keychain.Who would have thought that that little thing would be so cool.He and I also like lanyards, knives, multi tools and many other gadgets.I noticed after he showed me this site that many of the things I like others here also liked the same things. It is not just lights with us but many assorted items that all seem to fit in the same little category.
It seems we all have a certain type of personality that draws us to these objects.Any type of light or survival item always sparks an interest.
I am curious and would like to know what other types of items the members here collect or have. There may be something out there that I am missing and the people here usually have good taste or at least the same type of personality we all seem to share.
It may be binoculars, watches, lights, survival tools, knives, guns, blowguns, multi tools, and even I think there is something really cool about a high power slingshot or other cool play toy.
Yes we are all mostly the same and I would like to know what other vices you have....
Thanks as I am a naturally curious person but you already knew that as you are mostly all just like me...hehe

design telephones and clocks

battletech miniatures
etc.

we're all more or less headed in the same direction. Nothing strange though /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif, just a gathering of similar people uniting their efforts.

Knives
Pens
Lighters
HP calculators
Watches

and many others electronics gadgets /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I have a heap of little gifts in my drawers, it is crazy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I somehow have this strange addiction to bags/packs/pouches/containers/cases. From tiny capsules to huge Hardigg cases. Even when I was a kid, I always had some sort of bag for about anything. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But I also have tons of graphic design stuff, printed T-Shirts and some designer vinyl toys. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Shoes and purses... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

Although I must admit that now my purses must be able to carry at least a few of my flashlights... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

You could read all of these, get a list of mine. Except, of course for the "shoes, and purses".

What i spend my money on:
books, bike stuff, lightweight waterproof camping gear (esp. gasoline stoves), lights, multitools, GPS, more books.
What I find utterly fascinating:
trains, boats, most other transportation, any clever mechanism.

Used up old insolators (who else on CPF collects those things!), Digimon stuff, Star Trek stuff, used up old ghetto blasters, and used up old Commodore computers.
I don't collect knives, containers, cigerette lighters, gas or propane lanterns, forks, ashtrays, palm pilots, GPS systems, or other assorted gadgetry like some other CPFers collect.

Zippo lighters
knives
classic cars
old radios
although I don't have many of any of these, I've always liked 'em since I was a kid.

mp3 players.. all gadgets computers but after building em for a while it got real boreing.so i hardly like messing with pc,s no more

multi-tools
computers
guitars
movie posters

Basically, if it's a gadget....I want it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Any particular reason you exclude casino dice?

I have a pretty good collection of $1 chips from US casinos.

It is just facinating how most of us like the same things besides lights.
I also have many other interests in camping gear, and other goodies.Lanterns and spotlights are also cool.
I also have the same facination as 03Lab for containers and packs.I remember when Owen bought one of those Pelican micro cases I just thought it was so cool.
Keychain gadgets also intrigue me as well.I like the little mini kubotan things and of course my ARC AAA.
Backpacks and portable stoves are also very neat as well as those cool little mini binoculars at County Comm.
Thanks for the input on this as other peoples hobbies facinate me.

I gave up collecting binocullars when I bought a pair of Nikons!

I gave up buying cameras when I got a Canon EOS 650 and a couple decent lenses!

No more knives after Benchmade.

I think I have enough radios (at least a dozen).

Any money I am able to spend these days is almost always light related!

A lot of the other stuff y'all have mentioned is cool too!

I think everything mentioned so far interests me, except shoes and purses. Besides flashlights, radios, watches, cameras, and knives are tough to pass up.

My main interest is firearms and flashlights.

Hmmm....they both make a flash when turned on (i.e. a muzzle flash).

Automotive detailing got me into flashlights and now I do both, flashlights during the winter, detail cars in the summer. In 5 years detailing has cost me ~ $2000. In 1 year, flashlights cost me ~ $800. The third thing I do a lot is work out (currently squatting 220 with a 1 rep max at ~ 260-270 and I weigh in at 140 lol.)

I think its better to spend money on flashlights, car cleaning supplies, and protein supplements (Isopure and Labrada) vs cigarettes, cocaine, heroein, weed, and so on.

Same here Jason, are you Bodybuilding.com? Im taking around 150-200g of protein a day, only taking ( Costco Whey 6lbs )protein supplements and a multivitamin. If I had more cash I would buy more Creatine, and some protein bars to take to school. I try to get at least 50% of my protein from natural foods. I am now at 6' 190lbs thanks to that website. Goal is 200lbs lean.

So many hobbies, so little time.
My truck lead me to auto detailing
Flashlights lead me to knives, and firearms
Photography, I just love.

I am also into exercise and have been for many years. It helps to look in shape for my job as I am only about 5"8 and 180lbs.The supplements today are very good but almost cost as much as our flashlight hobby.I learned quickly that it does cost very much to stay on top of the quickly advancing supplements.
Here is a quick pic of me and my partner...told you I was short....hehe
Actually my partner is about 6"2 but I am still kind of short.
If you look close you can see my Inova X5T in my home made holster on the front of my belt...Love that light
