is it ok to t'port gen 1 night vision to Australia

hello all,

im sure there was a night vision section here, but no idea where it went...Anyway i live in Australia and want to buy a night vision monocular gen 1+ from USA.

Are there any restrictions on importing these into Australia, i remeber seeing something about exporting gen 2 from the USA out, but what about gen1?


i cant find any info anywere, can anyone help me, or point me in the right directions?

According to this webpage, Gen II and above is government-regulated. Apparently, though, it's possible to somehow get permission, but don't ask me how.

Why bother? Most of us here end up buying the cheaper Russian surplus NV anyway.
