is my cell battery toast?

cell phone battery? sounds like the protection circuit tripped.. but if it isn't charging either, it's probably dead.

yeah cell phone battery......

how to untrip the protech circuit? no sure what set it off, it was just setting buy my bed all night

When I have had this situation with unprotected cells, the charger refuses to charge them.
This is what I do, simply get a few bits of wire hooked onto + and - and connect a fully charged 3.7 to the "dead" one for a few minutes.
Don't know if I should do this but it works, on my WF-139 charger, my friend simply prods the terminals with the wire once the cell is in the charger to initiate charging.
tabetha

cell phone batteries can be had for much cheaper on eBay and other sites than though your local verizon store and the like. Verizon wants $28 plus tax for my cell battery. I got two spare batteries plus a charger for the car plus a desktop cradle charger all shipped for under $18. Replace it and throw the old cell away. Or have some fun with it.

You might want to charge that outside in a metal can at a long distance. And carry your phone around in a fireproof safe. Seriously, cheap knockoff batteries are not good and can explode. There have been many reports of this in the media with counterfeit Nokia batteries.
