is there a program to organzie music files?

all the ones ive tryied so far stunk. i want to organzie my wma files into folders. like all my aerosmith songs in a folder called aerosmith and etc etc,please post it if ya know of one

depending on your naming convention you can have itunes sort it for you into folders just as you mentioned.

Hold up; Are you wanting to Physically and kinda digitally move your songs on your HDD? What I mean is say all your songs are in one folder, and no seperate folders inside that, are you wanting to organize that? Or have a music player 'pretend' its sorted?

it is hard to explin but i want to move em physcaly on hardrive to new folders likke each band have its own folder. .

uhhhh , if your pc doesnt do that automaticaly im deeply sorry. lots of ripper do that wen you copy it to your hd and my pc will generally do it without my help.

ive never really had your prob= are you running xp?

Hi Raggie,

Musicmatch does a great job if you use it as a ripper. Rips them right to organized folders it creates itself. Couldn't be easier. As far as the songs already on your HDD, you would probably have to do it manually.

Yea Raggie, you are going to have to do whats alread there Manually. Try listing them in order Alpha order of Artist, and hopefully most will be together. Then create a folder and drag and drop each bands songs in there. Once your done with that, run out and get a decent cd ripper, and from there, it will do it all automatically.

Well, can't help for actually moving them. Windows Media Player 9 does it automatically when you copy the music to your PC. All you need to do is literally put the CD in, press copy. Finds all the album info and everything automatically.

Media Library in there seems to be the most easy to use as well, Winamp 5 apparently has a similar system, but I've only used it once. It crashes whenever I try to add everything to the library - and I can't be bothered to fight with it.
