Is this normal?

Sometimes when I turn the bezel of my Arc AAA standard it does not turn on. I have to unscrew it past the O-ring and turn it again for it to light.

Is this normal? This occurs about 10% of the times I turn it on. Once it is on it does not flicker.

This AAA is only 2 weeks old.

Yeah you need to crimp it. Mine does the exact same thing. I have tried to fix mine but it still does it occasionally, if I were you I'd send it in now before you get so attached to it you can't part with it long enough to get it fixed--that's where I'm standing right now.

<Sigh> I'll send mine in as soon as I get around to getting another one.

No, that is not normal Angus. We can replace it of course.

When we get the unit, we will see what version it is. There are some older style units out there.

You can always get service like this from Arc. Just wait until Gransee logs in, then post your question 5 minutes earlier.

I tired the "roll crimp" that was recommended by darell in prior posts.

It seems to have worked. Time will tell. I just can't part with my Arc while Peter works on it.

My LE doesn't seem to have this problem. Strange.
