OK, Barry, don't laugh too hard--but is there a tool that one uses to replace these bits, or do you just pry it out with a screwdriver?

I inherited this when I bought a cabinet full of cutting tools some time ago. I normally use a HSS cutoff tool, but since so many rant and rave about the Iscar tools, I'd like to try this. I even have some unused inserts.

Fred,

Just send one of your old left over custom titanium lights & I will reveal the Secret of the Holy Grail

Actually, all the self-grip variations come with a small tool for insert removal. Iscar calls it an insert extractor. Shouldn't be too hard to grind the profile on a small piece of rod stock, something around 3/16" diameter. To me the profile of the tip looks like an oval at the big end & a screwdriver at the small end.

Barry,

I'm just amazed, I tell ya, that you can pull those numbers up from your memory so quickly.

BTW, I didn't find any Ti custom lights lying around, but maybe this one will be OK?

Thank you Fred but I already have a drawer full of nearly identical parts. Don't think I've ever messed up boring a 6P, the mistakes only happen on Ti lights where the cost of buying a replacement part is $$$ :)

Always a shame to see a piece of scrap Moku. :(

The small key is what came with my Iscar 19-1. Just round with one side ground. The bigger one is what I used to use on GTN2 holder that I picked up from Travers for a couple of bucks. It's flat on both sides.
