Javelin mod using SSC hi-CRI?

In my quest for as nearly perfect a 2 x AA light as possible, I stumbled on the Javelin. It appears to have just the combination of throw, size, levels, and battery type I'm looking for! ;) However, I have become infected with the light quality of the SSC P4 natural white hi-CRI LED! (having built one into a ROV Sportsman Extreme 1W).

is anyone aware of a Javelin mod using an SSC hi-CRI P4? I know on high it would overdrive the LED by 200mA. Could that possibly be more of a problem with the hi-CRI phosphors than it would be for a "normal-CRI" LED? (I certainly didn't worry about it with my DBS V3 XR-E!:D)

Also, which reflector (XP-G or XR-E) would be best to try? XR-E seems more likely to fit, but the reflector itself may be less ideal to the LED radiation pattern?

Alternatively, are there any SSC P4 - P60 dropins available that would be similar to the 3-stage Javelin dropin and run on 2 x AA? Doesn't have to be a hi-CRI P4; I could always mod it

Thanks in advance!

there is a bare P60 dropin in DealExreme that is a SSC reflector one...

from that on you can build you own...

I think it is the DX 5955 and not the Dx 5937.....

the question is where are you gonna find a SSC mounted on a 16mm board? though you CAN clip a 21mm one...
