Whites and Tiger sharks don't consider man a meal but do on ocassion mistake him for one! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif If I were to be the victim of such a mistake, I would prefer it be with a White as historically, it would seem that they figure out the error sooner and are more likely to leave you in one piece; more or less.
A few years back, I had a Tiger come up from the depths to check me out while I was waiting for some whales to possibly swim by. It was rather unnerving! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
It stopped about 3 or 4 feet away and had it approached from my blind side and startled me..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
For defense, I was armed in a speedo and had camera in hand; no bright flashlight for disorientation! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
EDIT: Encounters are stastically rare so I would like to think I have "filled" my quota! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/str.gif Last year, three days after I had surfed a spot on Maui (S-Turns), a local was killed by a Tiger; attacked while paddling out and an artery in his leg was severed causing him to bleed to death while others helped him to shore. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
