Hi all,

I got so excited today when I received my JB III-M in gray w/ R2. Took the box to work and opened it up. Nice construction.

Anyway, so I changed modes by twisting the head slightly and went to low/set, and did the 3+ flash to program it, as it ramped up, i flashed again to go to strobe, as strobe got faster I clicked off and waited. Once I turned it on, it only has max brightness as a mode. I can turn the head all the way until it un-threads from body, and the light stays in max/un-programmable. I cleaned the contacts with alcohol and made sure rings were lubed, swapped out new set of CR123's. nuthin' :mecry:

Me thinks for the same price I should have got the TNVC lamp/tail combo, which is super reliable with my 6P. I've only ever used Surefire's + mods, so this is a bit discouraging as it's my first forray into non-surefire and within 5 minutes already experiencing lack of dependability. Has anyone else experienced this with their III-M?

Is there a way to do a hard reset with some sequence or something? Please help ! :(

Sorry you're having problems with your Jet III M, I've had mine (OD warm-tint) for about a month now and I still think it's one of the best lights I have. No problems with the interface and I really like the warm tint.

I'm sure someone with more experience than me will be along soon to offer suggestions.

Only thing I'd suggest is contact your seller and get a replacement.

Good luck!

Sorry to ask, but did you actually try to get into setting mode with the head loose or do you just think you can't get in setting mode as the light is on high?

Hi Timber,

Yes I tried to set it with head loose, it's full on max all the way until the head threads off the battery tube. I've tried programming it at 1/4 turns all the way until it threads off.

And I did program the IBS first, flashed it, and went to strobe, then turned off for a good 10 or so seconds and turned back on, where it was just high, regardless of head setting. Nothing programs.

I appreciate everyone's feedback and looking forward to an exact exchange with Bug Out Gear, their service seems pretty good. It's a great flashlight and I probably just got a dud out of many good ones. Will keep everyone posted :)

Quick Follow-up:

I received my new JetBeam III-M yesterday from Bug Out Gear USA. That was a fast turn around CA->MA, MA->CA from my shipment date. Light is so far flawless and working great, love it! :twothumbs

They even included a free set of Panasonic CR123A's and didn't charge return shipping! :wow:

Just a forum-wide thanks to them! Also, I ordered a battery case from them expecting something usable, but flimsy (from the photos). They are VERY rock solid and great retention snap. Just for those buying lights there, they are the worth the extra few bucks to store some cells on ya
