Has anyone tested effect of "focusing" this drop-in by rotating the reflector and changing the position of the emitter? Any measured/photographed difference? I think that led lying deep in the reflector could maybe have more throw?

This is done by "tightening" the reflector, which makes the emitter go up, and loosening it makes it to go deeper down.

You can not move the emitter any higher up into the reflector than it already is just by screwing/unscrewing. You can unscrew it from the reflector and lose focus though. I had to in order for it to work without a spring in my friends G2.

I loosened it to not only make a tight fit in my G2, but also to get rid of the rings. I had to add a small rubber spacer to fill in the head gap, but I now have a nice, smooth beam, with a slightly larger and warmer hotspot.:D

I have a SF C2. I'm planning on purchasing a DX 11836 R2 drop in for $12.40.

Does the DX 11836 R2 drop in leave a gap?
Do you have to remove or cut the spring?
