Re: Princeton Tec EOS and bike attachment

GuyZero, the plate is slotted, so you can slip the strap out. The plate itself isn't meant to be detachable, so the "bike" verson probably has a different plate/bracket, but I can't tell from the PT website.

The head-strap can indeed be completely removed. The slots in the front-plate that accommodate the strap have small gaps to allow removal of the strap.

The Zenix

Yesterday i tested my new Zenix while running at night in the dark forrest. It was mouch better than my Petz Tikka Plus, that has not got any centerlight beam at all,but i thought that it would be a little more powerful. The switch button is also placed on a strange place, making it difficult to find with gloves on.

The EOS looks mouch easier to operate than the Zenix, that´s for sure, but how about it´s light performance compared to the Zenix? Is it a big or little difference between the Zenix and the EOS?
Maybe i should have got an EOS instead after all...? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Northern Star—please see my post #759141 (Tue Nov 16 2004). On the samples I tested it is quite a big difference. Illumination in the beam of the EOS was greater by a factor of four.

Re: The Zenix

Polaris,
i went back a page and found your post. It looks like the EOS is stronger after all.Offcoarse there can be slightly differences between different samples, but it looks like the EOS is more powerfull than the Zenix.

Re: The Zenix

Guys who've tried both, would you say the EOS has more usable sidespill then the Matrix 2? I own Matrix 2 and often times wish it had more side spill for closer work.

Re: Zenix IQ

get BD Zenix IQ this week, as a local shop have 20% off
2AA power, 3 stage output for both LS and 2x5mm , plus a blinking mode..
with 2AA provided, LS-hi draw 0.76A, LS-mid 0.35A, LS-lo 0.19A which is same as 2x5mm-hi , 5mm-med 0.15A, lo-0.1A

again don't fool by those runtime on package ! besides better run LS-lo than 5mm-hi same current but more light!

open it up.. I found a QYAH .. so not bad... but I didn't found any heatsink ??!! only a bare star! even Streamlight Argo have a thin piece of Alumium.. it made me feel uncomfortable when LS-hi.. star get hot really quick

only thing I can think of is Alumium foil , fold it up attach to the back of star.. then fold up the rest and blend to the side of the optic (only room left inside & will not short anything)

Re: Zenix IQ

Snake,
does the BD IQ has a stronger light than the BD Zenix,or are they equal?

Re: Zenix IQ

Snake,
Do you know I am looking for the Zenix IQ too. May be pay it on next month. The only thing that I concerned is the brightness of 2x5mm led. How would it compare with those 4x5mm led in vectra IQ?

Re: Zenix IQ

NorthernStar,
I don't have Zenix so no idea of brightnest
Zenix IQ is some how regulated light , but Zenix work with resistor.... so no brightest level selection.. Zenix IQ at Hi will have some 480-500lux (like the old KL1), mid-220something, lo-still have 140something...(sorry I am getting old and forgetful those figure may not be so accurate)

Kiu,
may be I bring it out this SAT, come along la...ke ke/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
when shine to a white wall at 1ft, 2x5mm on hi around the brightness of Vectra IQ on mid (seem lux reading not so suitable here).. but again 2x5mm draw 0.19A same as LS on lo- it is better turn on the LS la...
