k106 or k109?

I'm wondering which would be brighter. The k109 uses the cr123 while the k106 uses a AA yet both have the same specs on DX :thinking:
I know some of you have both. I'm just wondering which is brighter. I would get both but I'd rather get one and maybe a p7 light while I'm at it.

Specs are overrated. 230 lumens are a little too optimistic...

In terms of brightness, to the naked eye, they're the same, provided you power the 106 with a 14500 li-ion.

That being said, I prefer the 106, for size/flexibility. The 109 is a bit too small (for my taste, anyway).

+1 on the K106, its a darn good light for its price point and its so easy to program too. I especially like that the clip enables it to be carried very discreetly in a pair of business trousers

I thought the K109 didn't have the programming/memory function? K106, 16607 all the way.

K109 from KD has memory and programming. I'm very happy with mine.

I've got both. Brightness is similar when both are on rcr li-ions.

I have 109 in my jeans pocket and 106 in bag.
