I have a leatherman Supertool 200 and an Emerson Blackbird, but I am looking for something smaller (still very solid though) which I could easily EDC, to deal with any situation. I was looking along the lines of a leatherman juice or Spyderco Salsa. Any suggestions would be appreciated?!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks X-Ray...that is exactly the sort of advice I was looking for! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a Swisstool, which is very nice, but too large and heavy for my EDC. So I got a LM Juice Kf4. It is easy to EDC, compact, nicely rounded, and well made. It's not as robust as Swisstool or Supertool, but it's a good balance of size and function. The anodized handles do get scratched a bit. The tools don't lock, but do snap into position smartly. I like it.

I have a Juice S2. It handles most things I throw at it. None of the tools lock, but as stated above do snap in to place.

Thanks for all the advice!! I just bought a SOG blink on e-bay..thanks x-ray /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I received my SOG Blink yesterday! That is pretty quick as it was only shipped on Thursday (arrived Tuesday).

At first I wasn't sure whether I liked the assisted opening feature, which I found a bit stiff and not as smooth as I would have liked. However, after a bit of playing (and two small cuts! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif), I like it! It is still a bit of a gimmick, seeing as it probably saves you all of 0.5 seconds in opening time...but its fun!! The Blink is nice and slim, VERY SHARP, pretty solid for its size and has a well designed safety (both preventing accidental opening/closing). It is actually slim enough to fit in my wallet, but makes it bulge to much to be practical. One final thing (I promise!), I have found it easier to open the blade using my middle finger in place of my thumb...which is unusual for me.

All in all I am pleased...especially as I paid half the RRP!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thanks again for the advice /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
