Hiya modders. Was hoping someone has tried to do a kroll conversion on an Inova X1. I like the little light, but the whole twist for on, twist a little for momentary on isnt my favorite. I got the flashlightlens.com PM6 clickie on the way for my pelican, and was hoping there might be a way to do something similar to an inova X1.

Any suggestions? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I'm home sick this weekend, and have too much time on my hands. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sick.gif

i don't have an x1, so i can't say for sure, but it seems possible /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

can somone provide pictures of the tail-end?

I just whipped out my X1. There's no way the Kroll is going into the body. The body thickness at the rear is only .040 at the major thread diameter.

The thing with the Inova is that the little disc in the tail switch makes contact with the body and the battery at the same time. The Kroll's spring would have to be attached to this disk for the light to function because of the anodizing on the threads of the tailcap.

The tailcap looks like it would make a nice host for the Kroll though. The press ring is almost exactly the correct size for the tap. You'd just have to get it out of there /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

OK i dont know how to use my digicam very well, I just bought the thing recently, and it has a billion options (canon s400 elph). So if this kills you dial up fellas I apologize. The flash caused some lens flare off the chrome, so I have flash and non-flash versions.

Thanks for the free hosting, using imagestation acct that B@rt posted here: Here

So chief wiggum, does that mean the kroll ain't happening? How about a molested garrity or brinkmann clicky switch, maybe even the Zan switch

it looks like space is very tight there...

again, it's hard for me to say without having it in person, but it appears as if the origional tailcap might be bored and tapped for a kroll...

i've done that with the streamlight twintask lights, and a gonzo light.

I agree with Roth. It looks like it'll fit, but there's only one way to find out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I briefly considered doing one of these, but I was going to just make a new body with enough length to accomodate the Kroll. And knurled, to make it more 'clicky friendly'.

Looking at it, the bored out stock endcap just may work, but the threads will be visible in the no longer useable lanyard hole.

If it's doable, the Lathe Monkey or the Chief will make it happen. Go gettem boys! I'm off to make a 2x123 and maybe a 2xAA pack for my Arc4....as soon as I can find some round stock that big.
