UPS just delivered my L1, thanks to Dan at Tactical Warehouse. On first inspection, I like it a lot! Better than an E2* with KL1. Overall length and bezel diameter are same as E2E. On low power it seems not quite as bright as an Arc AAA, and on high it's just a little brighter than a KL1 but has a narrower beam and seems to throw a little further. The tailcap includes a different, more complicate switch and the electronics are at the top of the body, right below the head. The battery is inserted from the bottom. The tail cap first turns on the dim light then at about three-quarters turn additional, activates the bright light. Momentary works as you would expect. There is a US Patent Pending notice included on the body. A very, very nice light and my guess it will be a big seller. I'll post more when I have a chance to work with it. You'll want one of these!

What kind of reflector does it use? Is it made by Sure Fire or the standard Luxeon collimator?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">You can lock out the tail switch by unscrewing it 1-1/2 turns outward from the point where the low level light is *just on*, steadily, without thumb pressure. To activate the bright light takes just over 1 turn inward from where the dim is activated. You can set the tailcap so that dim is on and then use the thumb button for momentary bright light.
