I think this should be titled "Brightness vs Light Output"?
The confusion may be that Brightness has to do more with the light focus rather than output.
A 65 lumen flashlight with a bigger reflector such as the L6 has a more narrow beam spread (tighter) than the U2. So the U2 may have more light output but is more dispersed.
If you take 2 light sources of the same light output, one with a 5 degree spread and the other with a 50 degree spread, at the hotspot the 5 degree spread would look much brighter. Same output.
That is what me thinks....?
