Lanyard attatchment point durability

I've seen where several of you SPY007 owners have attached a split ring to the light.

How much greater (if any) is the wear resistance of Ti compared to a steel ring?

I like the idea, as I could clip my lanyard to the ring instead of leaving the one it came with on all the time.

I just would be sick if I found the hole worn thru.

Go ahead and put your steel ring in there and don't give it another thought.
