Yeh, the only bad thing is that generic batteries cost about as much as the cells themselves, or a tiny bit more. Not worth the hassle, and the quite high risk of shorting them in the process, or destroying the case while opening it... Maybe if you have an old laptop you want to play around with, or if you want to install cells with higher capacity than the batteries for sale.
