I have a bunch of 18650 li-ions I have pulled from laptop batteries. Is there a way to add a protection circuit to them to use them in lights without built in protection circuits? Are there other considerations I should keep in mind? I'm only looking at using these in a single cell Lumapower D-Mini at this point, and I'm kinda leery of using multi-18650 lights.

possible? yes, easy? no.

i have over 50 laptop sourced 18650, i use them in 3, 4, 6 cell lights, so far no incidents, just don't runt them too low. most of laptop cells, are good quality cells made in japan.
