I'm a huge fan of the Laserpod and the lumia type effects from shining a laser through crystal.
Does anyone have pointers for a more dramatic, scaled up version of the Laserpod without spending $50,000 on a DIY gas laser system? I figure for a grand you could build something with multiple red/green lasers and a couple of crystals, but I'd rather buy off the shelf than DIY.
