Last night on duty

Well, I am in the final stages of "field training" with my new department.
last night my FTO and I were about to go off duty and we heard something in the garage where the patrol cars are parked. he shines his Stinger HP out in the garage and I shine my GL4 with 12v lamp and fresh DL123 batteries. His stinger could hardly light the area while my light illuminates the entire area in a bright white light.
he hangs his head in shame and exclaims that my GL4 makes his Stinger HP look like a match head /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

190 lumens versus the output of the stinger HP , it's just no contest. 190 lumens in a hand held is really a practical tool. guess it's time to order more of the Surefire batteries soon.

You may want to try to get your department to order a GL4 for everyone. If they decide to go through with it they may order you one too...

D'oh...Last week a few police cars at my station had a bunch of glass bottles thrown at them. Used my TL to clear a bunch of roofs...Fantastic output, especially without the ambient street light diluting the beam.

I have a Pila G3, and it's a really cool light. Don't use it on duty, though.

Is the GL4 brighter than the Mag Charger when it has 123a batteries instead of the rechargeables? ( 190 vs. 135 lumens for the two different battery configurations IIRC).

No way the department would purchase the lights.
The 12v lamp with (4) Dl123's delivers about 190 lumens at 45 minutes /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif with the LI-Ion batteries it's 130 lumens for a whopping 80 minutes /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif

I'm new here, but I got my dad a Mag Charger last year. I wasn't aware that you could put the lithium batteries in there to customize it. Do you know the approx. run time?

Sorry for the confusion. I meant putting lithiums in the GL4 instead of the rechargeables, not putting lithiums in the M@g.
