Re: LD01 Stainless ( very impressed )

I really hate to ask but are these images HOT LINKED? That would be a No-No :tsk:

Hi Bill -- Congratulations on getting your new LD01 -- I'm very happy for you! AND . . . I placed an order three days ago for (2) Stainless Steel Fenix_LD01 keychain LED flashlights, as well. After reading (and re-reading) your review, now I'm *REALLY* excited about getting them!!!

The LD01 sure looks pretty:
Please keep us posted on your new light.

seems to be only the SS version..
haven't heard any issue on the mode jumping problem from the blacks yet..

errr... How else are the pictures meant to be shown? It's not like they're loading every time someone loads this page, stealing bandwidth.

Right. This should be totally fine/appropriate. What you're not supposed to do is make it so that the images/pages themselves actually load every time someone opens up CPF. That's hot linking and is a no-no.

Unless, of course, you own the bandwidth yourself :)

What's the big deal? If the webmaster of the site which the images are hosted on don't want people to hotlink the image, they can simply add a few lines in their server ini file.

That's how most sites do it anyway. If the webmaster/host of the site doesn't, then you can't fault people for hot linking because it provides for a more pleasant forum experience.

Sites where I can't hotlink an image are very rare IMO, though I do have a couple more tools at my disposal than the average punter (though I wouldn't class myself as "expert" by any stretch of the imagination). It's basic good manners that you don't hotlink TBH, rather than because you can't.

Anyone have any idea of the dimensions of the glass window on the LD01?

FYI I have asked David for more information in his sales thread. I'll galdly share anything I find out here.

Re: LD01 Stainless ( very impressed )

Yes, that is why I worded it the way I did, as the pictures only load when clicked on.

Nice light, and I must admit the images want to make me buy 1 :)

Is it safe for me to come out here again?!??

I just want mine to come, been 25 days since I pre-ordered, very anxious, slightly frustrated.

I do understand it was a preorder, however the inital expected ship date was 11/21 then it changed to 11/24 then to 11/26 and now it is shown in stock and I have not recieved a ship notice and when logging in to the dealers site it still says "processing".

I'm not really upset and will continue to use the dealer I'm just an impatient guy when it comes to new flashlights.

If you are referring to 4sevens as your dealer then be thankful for the delay, they have verified that his shipment does not have the level jumping glitch that has shown up in other dealers batches. This is a very minor delay if you are used to being in these... I am always surprised if they ship within weeks of the initial date.
