Leadwave lights?

I'm not a Surefire fanboy by any means, but those light are no where near Surefire in quality. They look like rebranded chineese lights to me, especially the QIII look-a-like. Which isn't a bad thing, because I like my QIII.

LEDWave are by far the most underrated lights ever.

I had an X-33 it was awesome I broke mine though by running recargables in it. (that was before I found CPF and found out it was a bad idea)

www.Batteryjunction.com sells them They arn't surefire quality but they are better quality than most chinese lights.
They look alot like the Nuwai lights but these are HAIII

im not sure but  i think blackhawk carries the light on ledwave's front page

I had a Ledwave Z-2 Duo ... sort of a poor mans Aviator with an incan' surrounded by three led's.

It was well made and nicely finished, but the incan' beam was not that even so I converted it to a Luxlll
with a Fraen collimator - long before the Cree drop ins were available.. My first ever mod:D

Same tailcap fitting as SF C-series, and it would take SF lamp modules and of course the Cree drop ins.

I don't know where they are made, but they are produced by Ombu of Spain.

IMHO, unless there is a big price advantage I would stick with Surefire, but if they will be cheep enough
they are worthy of upgrades and mods.

These look like branded versions of the generic Chinese-made lights you can get from dealextreme and others.

About 10 years ago I bought one of the first products LEDWave made, a rubberized multi-LED light. It was like $60, and at first I thought it was so cool (it used like 25 3mm LEDs), and they offered C- and D-cell versions.

This was before I was an affirmed flashaholic so I didn't seem to notice the lack of any type of reflector/collimator, no window to protect the LEDs, etc. Not a very impressive light after a critical analysis, and WAY overpriced (I paid like $50-$60 at Sharper Image).

I had two of the X-11 and was generally very disappointed in their quality. (Lack of it that is.) The switch broke from both of them similarly roughly at the same time due to design flaw/incorrect material. Another thing was that the screw holes shown in the pictures lead directly inside the light rendering it non-waterproof despite the double o-ring at the tail cap. The screws became loose and I took the pocket clip off and glued the screws back to gain some water resistance. Both worked with LiIoi batteries without breaking, but without regulation a little more current than with primaries.

I will not buy a ledwave again.:shakehead
