I'm making a "melee-safe" foam "lightsaber" blade from polycarbonate tubing, closed-cell low-density polyethylene foam, and 5mm LEDs connected in parallel. I want to make it as bright and uniformly illuminated as possible along its length. Can you make me any recommendations as far as:
1. The best combination of viewing angle and intensity for illuminating my blade, given (again) that I want it to be as bright as possible and uniform in brightness along its length?
2. Where I should buy my LEDs from?
Thanks a lot. I'll be sure to share later if I can get this all figured out and put together.
Note: This is my first post and I have done a fair amount of searching before posting. If this is the wrong forum, please move my topic accordingly.
