I've been casting about for some lights with large arrays of 5mm LEDs. I know that a number of unknown manufacturers churn out the lights, but don't really know where to locate them.

Anyone got some ideas?

I'm looking for a decent quantity of LEDs here - at least 16 or so. I want something that puts out a heck of a lot of light.

Thanks for an suggestions.

Um, you can go online and look for such lights...you could probably get a flashlight that had 50 5mm LEDs and you could pay a lot of money for it...or you could get a Luxeon 1 or 3 watt light and blow the multi-LED lights out of the water for less money.

Elektrolumens makes lights bright enough to wake up the Moon...check out their area in the dealer's section.

I'm well-versed in Luxeon lights - I have more than a few, myself. I'm also aware of some of the costlier LED array options like the Tektite Trek 6000 EX60.

Perhaps I was a bit too oblique when I said "unkown manufacturers." There are a number of big array lights made in China with cheap LEDs that are surprisingly good quality for the dirt-cheap prices you pay.

idleprocess...I've stumbled across a LOT of what you're looking for on ebay. Search under "flashlight LED", and you should be able to find a whole array of lights!

I was really hoping to avoid ebay, but I guess I'll have to enter that giant crapshoot along with everyone else...
