well what the title says it..
is it feasible?

i mean I am trying to figure which of the two dictates output voltage and current....But I do not know enough to go further than guessing

I am thinking those small chnese xenon bulbs...3.6-6-7.2 Volt drawing around 1.2A....

Let me direct you to this kind of thread, where all is discussed in great detail:

Short answer: incans need a voltage regulator, whereas LEDs need a current regulator. You can regulate current through an incan and it will work fine, but you will have to carefully match the current required by the bulb to the current regulated by the driver, and keep the voltage in range. On balance, regulating voltage works better except for certain specialist lighting applications.
