led pr replacement for 3volt

I had started another thread about headlamps and after talking with my brother in law, I am going to get him the PT solo. His friend has one and he loves it. He liked the switchback, but does not want/need a belt pack for size reasons.

My question now is a pr based led bulb available for a 2 cell, 3 volt light?

I think Night Pearl & VersaLux are about your only 2 choices here. I believe Craig reviews both of them on his site. TX

I use the Versalux PR-2 and the Matrix Module in my Solo. The Versalux cannot be used with lithium AAs (overheats extremely fast), while the Matrix Module can, and does take advantage of Lithiums for 100+ hours of runtime.

From what I have read here on CPF, the Night Pearl can be used with Lithium AAs.
