Anyone know if it's feasible to swap the LED on a BBxxx sandwich? I may have a reason to want to do that at some point (not as much to put a better LED on the sandwich, as because the LED currently on the sandwich is a scarce bin that I may want to use in a different light).

I did that with a madmax to run a TWOK lux III. It's pretty awsome.

TWOK me too! on an old badboy with a low dome. The emitters are held down by the solder joints only. The emitter is just thermal greased to the emitter board. I used a toothpick to pry on the leads while heating and alternating sides to slowly pull it up evenly. You shouldn't damage your nice bin lux with a little patience. Replacing the emitter with a different one is just a matter of folding the leads down and re sizing them by snipping with nail cutters. then ofcourse reverse the process.
