LEDCorp Epieon question (or two...)

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

Finally I put Epieon in 4AA responder( a new one). The beam is white and can be focused. I don't have many flashlights so I have nothing to compare with but I can say it less bright than Tec Surge and Pelican Stealth 4AA, but brighter than 2 AA responder. I am looking for a long throw one. This one actually doesn't throw that long. Probably about 20+ yards but I don't think it can reach 40. I tested it for runtime last night. The first round for 2 hrs , and the second for 3 hrs continuously. The best tool I got is my own eyes. The beam is a bit dimmer but not much. I just got back from picking up my mail. I think it still can reach 20+ yards just like before. I like the result and I like this combination. Responder is very handy, just a bit smaller than Stealth 4 AA. I am interested in SL 3AA luxeon and would like compare to my Epieon 4AA responder. I am not sure which one will have a better throw. If anyone has one , how far SL 3 AA luxeon can reach ? I read from someone in this group mentioned about it has a good throw but did not say how far...

I just got a package from LEDCORP, and among a few other things in it are Epieons for 2- and 3-cell flashlights.
I'll see what I have around here that'll work (probably Mag Lites - who DOESN'T have one or two of those!) and see how they do.

So LEDCORP is still in business? Good. Since I'm having my doubts about LED Supply. I'm getting concerned, considering they've ignored three emails (sent 5/14, 6/4, and 6/17) and a phone message left last weekend.

I mean, maybe my new problem with the badly cracked Red & Teal and minor cracks in the White, Blue, and Green LEDs annoyed someone, but I'd at least like to know about the non-operational Amber one that LED Supply said on 5/12 would be "replaced right away".

But, patience, patience... I suppose. Or did I miss something and they really did go belly up?

Well, it takes time for them to answer, but they're nice enough about it and I've slowly been making progress. It took some digital photos to prove that a few luxeons really were cracked, but in the end it looks like I'll get them replaced.

Oh, and BTW I discovered that the Sears Craftsman Tool Lights, the aluminum ones in 2D or 3D size, have a bulb holder similar to the Dorcy Cool Blue / Our Best Aluminum. So, the 3D one makes an IDEAL home for an EverLED in terms of heat-sinking. Unexpected bonus is that the smooth reflector makes a near-perfect beam in the spot setting.

i too had a dud on 2 occasiond.
emails went unanswered.
but a call got them replaced fast.
btw iirc the cracked luxeons are caused by the everleds package not holding it in.
mine came rattling like a bb in a boxcar but no cracks.
