I am a volunteer firefighter and I have a set of lights in my windshield that were purchased. I have four lights in my dash that make up a small bar I made to mount them to. Each have three heads in them (which I am sure is just a single LED star, so three stars per light with optics of course) - but three in each light. Here is a link to the individual lights -

And here is a picture of the small bar I have in the windshield - look on top of the dash - kind of hard to see -

Since I made my first bicycle light, I learned a little about the electronics and some of the things associated with building LED stuff. I thought about possibly attempting my own light bar, with several LED stars mounted across a bar. Of course they would need optics and some way to make them flash.

I'm not sure what kind of electronics my little LED heads have, but they have 8 flash patterns. The lights can be wired so they flash simultaneously with other lights. I have two red and two white, and I have the reds flashing at the same time and the whites flashing at the same time. they are set up across the bar in this configuration: red, white, red, white.

Does anybody here know about what would be involved in designing something like this? I would much rather build my own custom bar and have the satisfaction of doing it myself vs. buying something.
