leds, for glass pictures

hi im new here please be gentle

im looking to do a new computer case mod including acrylic and leds. i want to carve a picture into the acrylic and light it with leds strung out thru the glass.

i wanted to know if you all kenw where i could buy a good bright red or purple led

i plan on making the acryllic the size of a typical midtower side panel, i also plan on placeing about 3 to 4 leds on each side of the acrylic piece.

im not familliar with a lot of the brightness specs and what to go with to make this whole piece shine.

Hi Farkle:

Welcome to CPF! Check out WWW.Beingseen.com for some really neat Electroluminescent Cable mods for PC cases. If you want to carve a picture I would suggest masking your clear plex and taking it to your local sandblasting company. Most places that etch glass will answer questions and blast for you on the cheap if you do your own design and masking. Good luck with your mod!

i am one of those artsy types and have done etching myself, i do plan on doing this freehand with a dremel, so wish me luck
