LEDs or incandescents?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking also, especially since they're so diffused. A white LED would've probably produced a hot spot at the top, although the higher color temperature would've definitely been more dramatic looking. And the battery would last longer!

Another picture from the bash in Beantown. I think this might be the white LED camera-mounted panel light that was discussed here awhile back? Now I also know who works that dumb rottweiler puppet on Letterman.

I think those lights are probably similar to this cheapie 2aaa incandecents squeeze lights.
