Yep, this is a disgustingly simple mod that even the most challenged could enjoy.
Having reconsidered purchase, I coughed up the $20 for a Legend LX.. I had hoped it to be brighter but what the hey, I never tried one before.
Anyways, I had always liked the Brinkmann "Rebel" which is a LED copy (using a 2AA body) of the LX, only in a plastic material. The Rebel's a decent LED light in all, but that's a whole nother story. To summarize: same guts and brightness as a "longlife" in an LX look-alike plastic body & head.
The flashlight head on both the Rebel and LX use the same size and "decoratively marked" rubber "bump strip" around the flashlight head.. BUT, the rubber bump strip on the Rebel has a metal "triangle hook", whereas the LX has a "flat nub" in the same place (to prevent rolling?). This metal triangle fits to a "hook-fixture" that's mounted to a belt loop - effectivly making this an "open carry holster".
These rubber pieces interchange perfectly giving you the belt-carry loop from the rebel feature on the LX.
Frankly, I can't imagine why Brinkmann didn't include this feature on the LX when it is included on the cheaper Rebel... It certainly adds to my usability.
BTW - I tried the RYB filter lenses (from the Rebel) and they fit but were loose enough that I could shake them off the light if I tried..
