Re: LF5
dialup beware) yet another versatile AA form factor flashlight
Nice overview with many fine photos...thank you nanotech17 !
Would you care to share any of your subject evaluations of the light such as :
any UI issues......how would rate the UI compared to your other single AA lights.....where would you rank this light overall with your other single AA lights.....are there any build quality issues evident.....and what role do anticipate this light will play in your EDC rotation....does it perform as well as your trusted Fenix lights and would you consider carrying it daily ?
Thanks for your feedback.
- regards
The UI have no issue at all.I like it
Since the LF5 thread is a top quality ones the UI can be easily rotate
single handedly and the best thing about twisty light is they are silent.
Even the top expert flashlight custom made - Arcmania also admitted
that the LF UI is one of the best out there together with quality finish
and body shape.
Built quality is so damned good on mine & doesn't feel cheapy at all.
I love the knurling pattern at the tail so good for the grip.
The moment i received it's already on my belt without hesitate and
at the moment my EDC's are LF2-eneloop/LF5-14500/Rebel DX-nimh 2700mah/T20.
Since the head is glued - water resistant is not an issue at all.
Performance wise - to be frank right now i prefer Rebel emitter because
to me the Rebel beam is 50% cree & 50% SSC P4,second comes the cree for throw.
And to the SSC P4 the beam now seems to be too flood.
I don't mind artifacts or ringgy beam as long as that emitter can really throw.
Can you imagine if the LF5 equipped with the latest Rebel such as 00/160 or 00/200!
That would be a bad *** torch in a 1AA form factor

Maybe one can mod or swap the LF5 emitter to the latest Rebel with smaller pcb board.
Well we have to wait.Or maybe i should get a Fenix Rebel 100 or Fenix Rebel 200
in future.
my 02 cents.
