Light id please?

Can you id this "police" torch?

Anytime you see "Police" on a light like that, it's a super cheap copy-of-a-copy Chinese light; poorly built and highly unreliable. Any of our basic ~$30 lights would be brighter and much more reliable.

I don't have it yet. My dad picked it up from some flea market guy. He said it has an ultrafire 18650 in it, a car and home charger, and a book in broken english. Claimes 750 lumens. Just has my curiosity as to what light it is.

Well, StarHalo's description :grinser2: is pretty correct, there is no "producer"/"Brand"/whatever ... You search for.

the claim is possible.
If You give us the led that is used (picture from the front end) and the current measured at the battery, or the runtime, then this can be roughly calculated.
If that thing gets HOT within some mins of use, then there is a high chance that the led really sees enough power to give that brightness (at least almost it)

If this light happens to be sold on DealExtreme or Kaidomain, somebody from the budget forum might recognize it and could show you the sale page, but all that will be there is the stock number and some vague name like "Police Light" with a few inflated spec numbers.

Lights like these usually use whatever the most common LED is at the time; I'd wager it's a Q5/R2 pushed to about 250 lumens. Be aware that there is usually little or no heat sink path on these hastily assembled units, and it will probably burn itself out after a few minutes of being left on continuously.
