Light momentary swtich, wiggle room when not tightened?

Hello, just wondering if a little bit of wiggle room forward and backward is normal when a momentary switch cap is not tightened all the way. I feel a little bit of forward travel on the switch cap when I hit the momentary button. Am I good or is their a problem with the treading on the switch tail cap?

Depends on the light, if the threads didn't have some play good luck turning the tailcap.

Every thread is made for a certain class of fit... Look in machinery's handbook or google thread class of fit. It is quicker and less expensive to make a thread that does not have a very close fit. For titanium to titanium, Closely fitted threads can increase galling.

Every thread is made for a certain class of fit...

PLUS, you then have to account for the natural variability of mass produced parts. I do a "lot" of work with Mags, and I know first hand a thing or two about the variability of those hosts and their tolerances on threaded parts ;)

The light I'm referring too is an Elzetta. If that makes any difference. I'm guessing they are still mass produced on a small scale.
