LEP, what is LEP? Laser Excited Phosphor, the new super thrower with a highly focused beam; and I was certainly excited to try out the Fenix TK30 White LEP light. I first came across the concept of LEP to be used as a long range tactical scope illuminator for snipers, and there is no doubt this is a highly specialised type of light. For long range scope illumination it is outstanding, and for the general lighting enthusiast it is a lightsaber, with near laser beam like projection.

This thread is a new approach for me regarding sharing my reviews. Forums are where I came from, and the discussion on forums is something I hope to be involved in and inspire. It has become too much work to convert the reviews published on my website into forum versions, so I need to try something else to stay in touch with the forums.

To the Moderators, there is a reciprocal link at the end of every review on Tactical Reviews. If you have any concerns over this approach please let me know.

I look forward to your comments.

Hello,

Thank you for the great review. I have had several Fenix products before but noticed that their battery management is not very good. they'll advertise certain output but that only lasts for a couple minutes and then there's a severe drop so very little constant current circuitry or constant voltage circuitry. Have you found this issue with this light?

I didn't have the remote switch to test, but a quick visit to Fenix gave the AER-04 as the model.

I used the Eagle Mounts MX1101 for my testing, but this is more of a temporary system than something you would use long term.
