and I'm just tapping my fingers wondering how bad this flashlight thing is going to bite me/has bitten me.

Dunno if I want talked into or out of hitting the go button. I guess I'm just thinking out loud.

If anyone's got one and would like to chime in, I've read a bunch of threads on it and I'm just looking for an "oh my God that's BRIGHT" light in a reasonable range.

Think it'll fit on a 1911 or would this be more of a coach gun light?

I've never weapons mounted a flashlight. I carry it in my other hand during sweeps.
I'm not sure I would mount one, especially this light.

That's easy enough with a handgun, and manageable with some long guns (preferably short ones), but it would be very difficult to operate a pump shotgun while holding a light in one hand.

A friend of mine has a nice little with a light mounted on it. Until I fired that gun at an indoor range, I didn't understand how nice a mounted light could be. The range had lightswitches on each lane, so low-light shooting was possible.

The sight picture was almost centered in the light's hotspot at 25 yards. It's no laser, but you knew where your bullets were going.

I've been searching the heck out of this place. Really good information from people who are way more knowledgeable than I'll ever be about this stuff.
