x2x3x2, the better question might be what advantage does it have over the 2100, the more recent AA model which IMO, was an actual upgrade from the 2000. The 2k had a torsion switch that could be more prone to failure, with the 2100 Lightwave chose to use the more reliable (my opinion) button activation. I've read the the Tec 2000 uses a button switch as well, I haven't handled one to verify but I can't believe they would have users turn an oblong(?) asymetrical(?)... hmmm, oh wait, I know: jacked up tear drop head off center from the handle to turn it on. So that does appear to be an improvement from the 2000.
As you can see from pictures the 2000 is hard plastic that deceptively lends itself to an impression of a typical cheap disposable flashlight. (Craig reported that it is more substantial than it looks) With the 2100 Lightwave beefed up the design and coated it with textured rubber like its bigger brothers thereby improving durability and grip. With the Tec 2000 it appears Lightwave has returned to using uncoated plastic.
So the Tec 2000 does appear to be have an advantage over the 2000 with the button switch, but it appears to be a step down from the 2100.
